The Council of the R.M. of Pense consists of a reeve and one councillor for each division of the rural municipality. Elections for reeve and councillors for odd-numbered divisions are held in even-numbered years, for even-numbered divisions the elections are held in odd-numbered years. Terms of office are 2 years commencing at the first meeting of council held after the election (held in November).
